The “Anti-Social” Life: De-Stress at Columbia Law School
March 22nd, 2012
Let’s face it: law school students have a reputation for burying their heads in their books. So we offer this weekly series, “The ‘Anti-Social’ Life,” to illustrate that law school students can enjoy a life of leisure as well.
Need a way to de-stress after a long week of classes? You have many such options at Columbia Law School. To start, you might consider joining the Columbia Card Club, in which players of all abilities get together to play poker and other card games for fun and in tournaments. If physical activity helps you relax, you can join the Golf Club or play in the annual Columbia versus NYU Law School basketball competition—called the Dean’s Cup. Or consider joining the Yoga Club, where you will be taught the flowing vinyasa style by a certified yoga instructor (and fellow Columbia Law student) in 75-minute classes. Or you can simply “Run from the Law” in organized group runs and local races with fellow Columbia Law students. This group’s slogan is “If you’re looking for a healthy addiction during law school, come run with us.”
