The “Anti-Social” Life: Family Fun at Duke Law

Let’s face it: law school students have a reputation for burying their heads in their books. So we offer this weekly series, “The ‘Anti-Social’ Life,” to illustrate that law school students can enjoy a life of leisure as well.

While you attend Duke University School of Law, your family doesn’t have to feel left out of the experience. Every February, the Duke Law Office of Student Affairs, the Duke Bar Association and the Public Interest Law Foundation co-sponsor Family Weekend. Whether you are looking forward to your mom or dad being grilled by your toughest professor, or want your grandparents to see where you eat lunch every day, Family Weekend gives everyone a taste of life at the law school. This year, the weekend culminated with the 15th Annual Public Interest Law Foundation Auction and Gala, at which faculty, staff, students and family members wined, dined and most importantly bid on items in both silent and live auctions to raise money for the Public Interest Law Foundation.
